Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Meat Raffle

Big Brothers Big Sisters is excited to bring this new and exciting event to the Treasure Coast! Grab a beverage of choice and win some meat at The Broken Spoke in the City of Fellsmere. What is a Meat Raffle you ask? Don't miss out on this wonderful event, which goes to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters one-to-one mentoring programs!
When Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties (BBBS) CEO Stacey Watson-Mesley asked “Want to have a Meat Raffle?” the BBBS Team looked at her in confusion.
“A what?” questioned Taylor Farnsworth, BBBS’ Development Officer while Marketing Coordinator, Megan Rossknecht, began to laugh and asked, “Can you please explain?”
“A Meat Raffle,” replied Watson-Mesley. “is exactly what it sounds like. When I lived in Buffalo there were whole website dedicated to charity Meat Raffle events. We have wonderful meat and seafood resources here in Florida, so why not have a meat raffle and potentially connect with some great mentors?”
On June 11, 2019 BBBS will bring this Buffalo, N.Y. tradition to Fellsmere, F.L. at the Broken Spoke Bar from 6-9 P.M.
Tickets to attend the Meat Raffle are $10.00 including non-alcoholic beverages and “bar food” snacks. A cash bar is available as well. SEATS ARE LIMITED so purchase them in advance. The event organizers recommend bringing a personal cooler to take winnings home!
The meat raffle will consist of three sessions. At the door you will buy "BIG Bucks", which you will then exchange for your Meat Raffle Tickets. Meat Raffle tickets are available during the event for $1, $2 and $3 depending on the round (there will be 20 rounds) and patrons may purchase as many tickets as they want. BBBS will also be offering a basket raffle to add to the fun. Breakdown of sessions consist of:
Session #1 Begins: (Tickets are $1 each)
- Ten rounds
Session #2 Begins (Tickets are $2 each)
- Nine rounds
Session #3 Begins (Tickets are $3 each)
- One round
The winning tickets will receive meat bundles starting from $9- $1,000 in value , based on round.
